Developed in collaboration with Menphys and De Montfort University, a dedicated charity supporting children and young people with disabilities and their families in Leicester and Leicestershire, Coping Card Battles is an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) card game designed to foster emotional regulation. The game’s primary aim is to equip children aged 5-17, particularly those with learning difficulties, with essential coping strategies and a deeper understanding of their emotional world through engaging play.

Together, we designed and created an interactive AR card battling game where children navigate challenging Story Cards representing everyday emotional situations. Through strategic play of Coping Cards, they learn to manage emotional intensity and promote positive behaviours within a dynamic, AR environment. This collaborative project blends educational principles with engaging gameplay to make learning about self-regulation a fun and accessible adventure.
